The IRE Department approaches religious education as both an academic discipline and an important area of moral and personal development.

Qur’an Studies

The study of the Holy Qur’an is an important part of Islamic Religious Education.

Students are guided to understand selected teachings of the Qur’an and examine their relevance to personal conduct and society. Learners explore themes related to faith, worship, justice, responsibility, compassion, honesty, family, leadership, and relationships within the community.

The department encourages students to approach Qur’anic study with seriousness, respect, reflection, and a desire to understand how religious knowledge can contribute to responsible living.

Hadith and Sunnah

The department introduces learners to selected Hadith and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as important sources for understanding Islamic belief and practice.

Students examine teachings related to character, worship, leadership, family responsibilities, social relationships, honesty, justice, kindness, and service to humanity.

Through these studies, learners develop an appreciation of good conduct and the importance of applying ethical values in everyday life.

Islamic History and Civilization

The study of Islamic history enables students to understand important personalities, events, institutions, and developments within Islamic civilization.

Learners explore the life and mission of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the development of the early Muslim community, the contribution of Muslim leaders and scholars, and the historical development of Islamic civilization.

The subject encourages learners to draw lessons from history while appreciating the contributions made in fields such as education, scholarship, science, medicine, mathematics, literature, architecture, and social organization.

Worship and Religious Practice

The IRE Department helps learners understand the principles and significance of Islamic worship.

Students study areas including prayer, fasting, charity, pilgrimage, purification, and other aspects of religious practice within the academic curriculum.
